Open Warfare at Pippingford Park
TA Events has brought Airsoft skirmish gaming to Pippingford Park in East Sussex.
The first game took place on Sunday 20th July and was a great day for all those that attended. Due to the success of the opening day I am now in discussions with the land owner to attempt to make use of the land on a regular basis.
This is what some of the players thought:
"Well the first TA event i been to and i can definitely say, most excellent!"
- Rabbid
"It was a cracking day with excellent plot and games..."
- Skyrunner
"This was our first TA event, but we'll definately be at the next ones! There was a good atmosphere, everyone was just there to have a good time which made a great day!"
- RyanH
2008 Dates
TA Events have secured two more dates during 2008.
The dates are:
- Sunday 5th October (11:00 until 18:00)
- Sunday 9th November (Normal times)
Regular monthly games are planned for 2009.
What is "Open Warfare"?
TA Events Open Warfare games are single day skirmish level events in 70 acres of
a fantastic 400 acre woodlands setting in East Sussex. Located on the A22 and just
15 minutes from the M23, Pippingford Park is very accessible to airsoft players
in the south-east of England.
Open Warfare takes some of the MilSim elements found in the previous Town Assault
and current Phoenix Rising events and makes them accessible in a more casual day
of skirmishing. But there will be no "capture the flag" type skirmish games at Open
Warfare. Instead there will be scenarios based on realistic miltary actions, but
implemented in a way that will deliver loads of great Airsoft action throughout
the day.
However, there will be some key difference between the Open Warfare games and a
TA Events Big Game event.
Key differences between Open Warfare & Phoenix Rising
- Open warfare events are basically single day skirmish events with elements of MilSim
thrown in.
- Players can carry all their spare ammo on them. But only locaps and mids are allowed.
- There will not be any strict camo rules. All players can wear whatever suits them
but one side will have some form of coloured marker on their right arm.
- The day will be broken in to several games vary in length.
- There will be no strict command structure.
- Games will start at 1000hrs and stop for one hour at 1300hrs. Games will continue
at 1400hrs and will end at 1700hrs.
Some game will be set within the Phoenix Rising storyline, but this will not always
be the case.
Pre-booking
The first several events will require pre-booking. To pre-book, you simple pay a
£10.00 deposit which can be paid using paypal. The "Pay Now" is below. Once the
site is more established then pre-booking will be dropped in favour of pay on site
method.
The remaining £10.00 per player should then be paid at the check-in. Only cash payments
are accepted.
Bookings will be available up until 1 week before each game.
All deposits are non refundable and non transferable.
Insurance Waiver
Players that attend this event will be required to complete an insurance waiver.
If you are under 18 then this waiver has to be signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Click here to download the insurance
waiver.
Please do not forget to bring the completed insurance waiver with you when you attend
the event. In the event that you do not bring the completed waiver then more will

Directions
The directions to the site as well as key locations within the site can be found
on Live.com Maps.
For SatNav's punch in the TN22 3HW postcode for Pippingford.
Once you have reached Pippingford Park then turn left (if you are heading south towards the coast) in to the estate. But be sure to turn left in to the 2nd entrance and not the first. The first entrance will still give you access to the car park but it will be easier to find if you take the 2nd entrance.
Once in the actual estate the take the first road leading off to the right and follow the road for approximately 400m before coming to the car park. There will be a check-in hut on the righthand side whilst parking will be on the left.
