I haven't enjoyed myself like that in a long time. Swynnerton is definitely a better site for this sort of event. Let's leave the FIBUA sites for the blatters. I'm just glad my abortion of a bivvy didn't collapse when it rained. when's the next one ?

Bad bits- Sunday's weather, some non-hit taking, tactical errors, TA units bimbleing through our area, Marines bimbleing through, I didn't see any chrono'ing, not being able to raise admin or Zero between the hours of 0630 & 0745, only killing 2 opfor.
I really enjoyed this kind of game, I would have liked to have infilled a op team and had a long op in place, but hey!
Was it worth it? Money wise, I would say just in the no, but as an experience then.....Oh yes, I do like Swynnerton, it has a lot of flexibility and promise for a gamers view.
I owe a BIG apology to all ECHO 1, I misread my co-ordinates and took us way past our objective of joining up with Echo 2+3 for the ambush.
Equipment wise, only Jnr and I had NO RIF mishaps, so I'm happy, I bought smoke and never got to use them......bummer.
Biggest laugh, tabbing it back to harbour and coming across the lone marine RT operator, who asked for directions.
To all Echo 1, thanks for an enjoyable event, and looking forward to fight alongside or even against you soon.
Merlin.

Roll on the next one.
On an admin note for Echo 2 IC; Chris, I think I picked up inserts for a pair of ESS ICE like you were using after packing up on Sunday morning if you're missing any? I meant to hand them to TA-Events admin but completely forgot they were in my pocket

Fantastic site, really good woodland areas, ruined buildings and everything in between.
Nice one Ian! thanks for organizing it, and i'm sure we'll be back for the next Tac Ops game!
Lemming, I'll let Chris know about the inserts, mate. Cheers.

I enjoyed the the game very much, didn't see even one blue on blue /friendly fire, or players who discussed their hits.
In the end it was absolutely worth it!
Big Thanks to the irish guys for the beer on friday evening,
Ian thanks for the weapon, Martin thanks for seeing ya xD
Doc, Monty, Steve, Martin (all CIA SAD) thumbs up, I enjoyed it absolutely to play with you in one squad, hope it won't be the last time.

Thanks to the OPFOR (team Delta Alpha and team Gray Fox) for their part and to Brett and Mike for co-ordinating the actions of the OPFOR. And not forgetting Paps for his role as the Platoon Seargent.
Personally, I am very pleased with the weekend. Some significant game plans had to be modified in the closing weeks leading up to the weekend due to a large number of dropouts. But hopefully the success of this event will lead to larger numbers at the next TACOPS.
It was a great shame to be washed out on the Sunday. There were still some ready to carry on but I felt that it was best to endex taking in to account the small numbers left and the health & safety considerations.
It was annoying to find members of the other military units crossing in to our boundary but this can somtimes happen at any training area where multiple units are on the ground at the same time. This has been passed on in a report to the MOD though.
But despite that, we packed in a lot on the Saturday and there was much more ready to be rolled out on the Sunday. But they will have to wait until next when we can have the concluding event to this operation.
I will be giving the TA Website a face lift over the winter and will be releasing the new version in the New Year which hopefully will include many of the game dates for 2010. So far these include 2x BattleSim games and 1x TACOPS.
Thanks again for coming and I look forward to seeing you all at the next TACOPS game in 2010.

I know it is late to say Thank You all, but better late than never.
It was an outstanding experience for me. Not just the event itself but the sudden help and the kind friendship I have been granted. Thank you all very much. I hope we will meet again.
I have not pointed out anyone in particular, because I had to thank everyone and I fear to forget at least one.
If you need help over here don’t hesitate to ask for it.
At the end I want to tell a story about our arrival back in Germany.
German Border Police placed our Gun cases onto the carrousel along with all the other luggage from that flight. Luckily there where helpful members of the RAF, who identified our bags as misplaced and protected them until we arrived. The sudden laugh about it got stuck in my throat afterwards.
Greetings from Germany and have fun,
Buckmaster
