The Nagorna-Karabakh region is still at the center of the on going conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which erupted after a series of terrorist attacks within the city of Stepanakert.
Azerbaijan are now preparing a major offensive to drive straight through the Nagorna-Karabakh republic in an effort to close the Lachin corridor which wil prevent Armenia from reinforcing the republic so easily.
With two armoured brigades and one light infantry battalion moving west, Armenia are rapidly deploying their reserves to deal with this developing threat.

Phoenix Rising III
The Attrition of War
Phoenix Rising is back for the third episode and will be taking place at Sennybridge in a "return to basics" game format. Return to basics means an infantry engagement in an urban environment with classic house to house combat, up close and very personal.
But this time there will also be a few extra rules to increase the level of realism for this battle. Restricted ammo rules will be back, along with more realistic medic rules, simulated UAV sweep's to provide up to date intel on enemy positions; static HQ's, forward observation officers to co-ordinate the fast air and artillery fire support, and much more.....
The Return to Sennybridge
The event will take place at the Celieni Village within the Sennybridge Training Area, in Wales, and will be on 4/5 April 2009.
This is an excellent FIBUA village located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and has been used for both of the previous Phoenix Rising events that took place during 2008.
What is Phoenix Rising
Phoenix Rising is the new series of events created by TA Events, which simulates the end of the Nagorna-Karabakh cease-fire between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the renewed fighting between these two neighbouring states.
The Phoenix Rising events, like the Town Assault events that preceeded the current series are Military Simulation Airsoft events that mainly take place on British Army training facilities.
These events focus on using rules to realistically simulate a battle environment during an intense 24 hour engagement. Strict camo rules are used to aid distinguising between friend and foe. Ammo restrictions are used to simulate the limited quantity of ammunition soldiers take in to battle. Strong unit communications are encouraged with the use of 4 watt radio's.
All of this comes together to create a weekend event of furious and intense action where players are totally immersed within a simulated battle environment.
PR3 - The Attrition of War
The renewed fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijan has now been waging since July 2008, with Azerbaijan gaining the most territory but paying a high price for it.
During November 2008, what is suspected to be Armenian special forces, carried out a covert raid on a BTC Pipeline maintenance compound, approximately 15 kilometers inside the Azerbaijan border where upon explosive devices were planted and detonated causing several ruptures to the within the pipeline.
This has caused all oil exports through the pipeline to be suspended which in turn has caused a significant dent to Azerbaijans economy and more importantly to the war effort. Subsequently, Azerbaijan has now opened negotiations with Russia to re-route their Caspian Sea oil exports through Russian territories as a means of reaching the west.
But what about the Event?
If you took part in the Town Assault 1 and Town Assault 2 events then you will have a pretty good idea of how this event is going to be played out.
- Both forces operating from fixed command HQ's.
- New ammo restriction rules.
- New medic rules.
- More focus on team work than ever before.
We are going to be packing it in for this weekend, we have the big bangs, the vehicles, the emphasis on medics, the Battle Command system, and every other great gaming experience you have seen during TA Events games.

Entering the UK with Airsoft weapons
The Violent Crime Reduction Bill was implemented in the UK during October 2007. There does seem to be some confusion on how this might effect non-UK airsofters entering the country with their Airsoft weapons.
From my understanding, the VCR Bill is designed to stop the importing of Airsoft weapons, and not to stop non-UK players coming in to the country with their Airsoft weapons.
Of course every airline has their own policy on the transportation of weapons and fire-arms. I would suggest your consult with you airline to find out what rules and regulations they have on transporting such items.
All non-UK booked players will also recieve a letter of invitation to the event which could be presented to British Customs when entering the UK to prove that you are attending a legitimate Airsoft event during your stay in the UK.
Event Photography
A event photographer will be snapping away during the event and hardcopies of the photo's can be made during the weekend.
All profits made from the photography will be going to the Bamako Bampots fund raising appeal.
