The Chernarus Conflict - Part 2

The Battle of the Grozovy Pass

The mission:

With a new major offensive against the Chedaki forces well under way, a small strike team is dispatched to capture a senior member of the Chedaki leadership seeking protection in the Grozovy Pass.

But plans for a swiftly executed operation come to an end when the strike teams means of extraction is destroyed by Chedaki air defences. A simple snatch & grab mission quickly turns to one of survival.

Outnumbered, out gunned and surrounded behind enemy lines, the strike team prepare to dig deep and wait for the Chedaki counter attack whilst desperately holding out for an alternative means of extraction.

Experience the battle, experience TA BattleSim!

CDF/USMC Core Tasks:

Phase I: A failed Snatch & Grab

UCDF/USMC extraction plan A has fallen through and they must now hold the village until a new extraction can be performed in the evening.

  • Establish a base of operations
  • Secure a defensive perimeter around the base
  • Secure the Chedaki ammo supplies
  • Secure the Chedaki captive ready for extraction
  • Keep casualties to a minimum until reinforcements can arrive and a safe escape route can be found.

Phase II: Preparing for the storm

The first of the forward reconnaissance elements move in under the cover of darkness to carry out their tasks to ascertain enemy strength and disposition as well as pre-selecting targets for potential fast air strikes.

  • Carry out close target reconnaissance of the village gathering intel on enemy strength, strong points and disposition.
  • Mark pre-selected targets for destruction by fast air assets.

Phase III: The Offensive

The real battle of the Grozovy Pass would begin.

  • Take the key stronghold village overlooking the pass, destroying all Chedaki resistance.

Chedaki Core Tasks:

Phase I: A failed Snatch & Grab

With an enemy raid to capture a Chedaki leader, the raiding group has been stranded and all efforts must be made to destroy the enemy and rescue the leadership member.

  • Rescue Chedaki captive
  • Retrieve as much of the ammo supplies as possible, before the raiding party discover that the village is also acting as an ammo dump.
  • Carry out a series of hit and run major attacks against the defenders perimeter before launching a final offensive in order to overrun the defenders base of operations.

Phase II: Preparing for the storm

The first of the forward reconnaissance elements move in under the cover of darkness to carry out their tasks to ascertain enemy strength and disposition as well as pre-selecting targets for potential fast air strikes.

  • Provide overall security throughout the night consisting of secured strong points as well as patrolling throughout the village and around the perimeter

Phase III: The Offensive

The real battle of the Grozovy Pass would begin.

  • Defend the village against a joint CDF/USMC assault which is all part of a major offensive through the Grozovy pass.

Game Play

If you are looking for an event where tightly controlled orchestrated attack and defensive actions are played out in a realistic way then this is the event for you.

The Chedaki attacks are a series of probing attacks with some feint assaults, followed by deep thrusting attacks to cause maximum damage, before swiftly withdrawing to regroup in order to launch another full strength assault from a different angle. All the time trying to catch the defenders off balance and to stretch their defensive line to the breaking point.

The CDF/USMC group however, have to plan a defensive action knowing the fact that they don't know where the next big push will come from. They have to remain flexible and dynamic in order to quickly re-deploy their line in order to deal with threats as they appear. They have to be willing to give ground in order to buy time to switch their defensive groupings to deal with an unexpected direction of attack from their enemy.

This will lead to situations of urgency, quick thinking, and adaptiveness, which in turn creates intensity like you have not before experienced in Airsoft.

And all of this is just phase I of the weekend, thats before the night time action and the major CDF/USMC assault during the following morning.

In a nutshell, this is simply BattleSim at it's best!

What is BattleSim

BattleSim is for players that want a faster pace game with nested sub-missions.  But at the same time, BattleSim will still hold to the core basic values of MilSim (team structure, strong communications, low/mid cap magazines and limited ammo).  You can find more information on BattleSim on the BattleSim Page.

BattleSim is NOT for players that want to go off and do there own thing.  We introduce command structures and an Order of Battle within our weekend events and we expect all players to honour this system and adhere to it throughout the weekend.

Entering the UK

The Violent Crime Reduction Bill was implemented in the UK during October 2007. There does seem to be some confusion on how this might effect non-UK airsofters entering the country with their Airsoft weapons.

From my understanding, the VCR Bill is designed to stop the importing of Airsoft weapons, and not to stop non-UK players coming in to the country with their Airsoft weapons.

Of course every airline has their own policy on the transportation of weapons and fire-arms. I would suggest you consult with your airline to find out what rules and regulations they have on transporting such items.

All non-UK booked players will also recieve a letter of invitation to the event which could be presented to British Customs when entering the UK to prove that you are attending a legitimate Airsoft event during your stay in the UK.

Descriptions

Chernarussian Defence Forces (CDF)

Chernarussian Defence Forces "CDF"

Chernarussian military has been trained by Western armies in past years, but it retains weapons and equipment of the Soviet Army, its direct predecessor. Its main task during the past years was to fight challenging counter-insurgecy campaign in the mountainous regions of Northern Chernarus.

Battle Dress Uniform:  Tan colours

United States Marine Corps

United States Marine Corps

USMC deployment in Chernarus consists of 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), which is supposed to overturn the balance in the civil war in the favor of Chernarussian government. Marines are skilled in assymetrical warfare and are backed up by superior weapons and technology.

Battle Dress Uniform:  Multicam

Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star (ChDKZ)

Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star "ChDKZ"

Although the communist insurgency has its roots as an underground movement, it is now a conventional force with military structure and weapon platforms captured from the Chernarussian government or provided by international arms dealers. This has given ChDKZ (aka "Chedaki") enough power to start a coup against the government.
