The Ashes of War - Part 1Mission OverviewMission Background Information:The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, a de facto independent, but unrecognized state established on the basis of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast within the Azerbaijan SSR of the Soviet Union. The territory is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, although it has not exercised power over most of the region since 1991. Since the end of the Nagorno-Karabakh War in 1994, representatives of the governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have been holding peace talks mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group on the region's disputed status. The peace talks ended when Azerbaijan armoured columns poured out of the staging areas and hit the Azerbaijan/Nagorna Karabakh line of contact. Baku had gone to war! With the limited window of opportunity Azerbaijan expect to have before a ceasefire is demanded by the international community, a full-scale operation in the central sector of the Line of Contact (LoC) at Agdam was the main emphasis of their operation planning. The occupation of Agdam would overshadow the heavy loss of men and equipment that might result, and allow Azerbaijan to claim a public relations victory. From Agdam, their forces would attempt to push toward the settlement of Askeran. At the same time a secondary operation to the south would have Fizuli as its immediate objective. If successful, this operation would attempt to reach the settlements of Hadrut and Martuni. The objective would be to “stretch” the front from Askeran in the north through Martuni to Hadrut. This would put Karabakh’s core area (Stepanakert-Shushi) in a vulnerable position. But the Azerbaijan ground forces were facing a well-prepared and determined Karabakh defense force. The battle for Agdam is about to begin... Price and how to bookThe price of this event is £95.00. Bookings can be made for individuals or as a group booking. What is BattleSimBattleSim is for players that want a faster pace game with nested sub-missions. But at the same time, BattleSim will still hold to the core basic values of MilSim (team structure, strong communications, low/mid cap magazines and limited ammo). You can find more information on BattleSim on the BattleSim Page. BattleSim is NOT for players that want to go off and do there own thing. We introduce command structures and an Order of Battle within our weekend events and we expect all players to honour this system and adhere to it throughout the weekend. Entering the UKThe Violent Crime Reduction Bill was implemented in the UK during October 2007. There does seem to be some confusion on how this might effect non-UK airsofters entering the country with their Airsoft weapons. From my understanding, the VCR Bill is designed to stop the importing of Airsoft weapons, and not to stop non-UK players coming in to the country with their Airsoft weapons. Of course every airline has their own policy on the transportation of weapons and fire-arms. I would suggest you consult with your airline to find out what rules and regulations they have on transporting such items. All non-UK booked players will also recieve a letter of invitation to the event which could be presented to British Customs when entering the UK to prove that you are attending a legitimate Airsoft event during your stay in the UK. Copehill Down is a 'FIBUA' (Fighting In Built Up Areas) training facility where Army exercises and tests are conducted in the form of town assaults and building clearing drills and general Urban Warfare. The village is featured in most of the promotional army DVD's and television advertisements. It has provided a training ground for conflicts including the Cold War, the Balkans and Northern Ireland.
