About TA Events

TA Events has one aim, and that is to provide a unique airsofting experience to the UK Airsoft community.

TA Events emerged from the Town Assault series of Airsoft events that ran between September 2005 and October 2007. Town Assault was the brain child of Ian Wermerling. The first event took place at Urban Assault in Cambridgeshire and introduced the first major MilSim event to that particular Airsoft site. The original game concept was hatched in February 2005 and the game took place in September with 180 attendees. Unlike the events that followed, TA1 was just a single day event, but it pulled together many unique gaming aspects that made it a very successful event.

TA2 followed in May of the following year and introduced the airsoft community to the Copehill Down FIBUA village at the Salisbury Plains training area. With nearly 400 players in attendance playing across a 24 hour non-stop event, it provided a gaming experience many players had not experienced before.

Two more Town Assault events unfolded across the following 12 months until the final event was played out at Caerwent in October 2007.

During 2008 we started with a brand new storyline and a new series of events that went under the name of Phoenix Rising, with the first event taking place at the Sennybridge FIBUA village.

Three more Phoenix Rising events followed throughout 2008 and 2009, with the last event taking place back at the Copehill Down Village.

By late 2009 TA Events decided to split its gaming format in to two distinct formats, TacOps and BattleSim. TacOps was developed for serious MilSim players that want a much more realistic soldiering type of experience, whilst BattleSim is designed for those that want a taste of MilSim but in a more relaxed manner and a faster paced game.

The first TacOps was introduced in 2009 at the Swynnerton Training area in Staffordshire, with the first BattleSim to take place during 2010.

Many years on and TA Events has still just one aim, and that is to provide a unique airsofting experience to those that attend the events.
